The
skyscraper era ended on September 11th 2001.
In the Web era, 90% of those working downtown
just dont need to be there to do their jobs
anyway.

much talk of dispersing still more work to exurban
low-rise campuses and right into the home.

another 20 million own home-based businesses.
And both totals are growing rapidly.
Working
couples are deciding theyd rather have at
least one parent at home with the kids. Rethinking
career goals and family priorities, workers are
re-evaluating what they want from life. Millions
will move house right out of town
in search of a slower pace in a safer place.
